On Saturday, May 31, 2008, the Maui Cricket Club poured concrete for a first class cricket pitch on Maui at Baldwin Beach Park. This came to fruition much thanks to enthusiastic volunteers led by Maui cricketers and support from family and friends. With materials provided by the County of Maui Parks Department, the team came together as never before to complete the work smoothly in record time. The club profusely thanks the County of Maui officials in Parks and Planning department for their assistance. In addition to materials provided, we were encouraged to build the pitch according to our exacting standards derived from years of playing at Baldwin Beach Park, using knowledge from our cricketers who come from all over the world.
